Ringworm
![]()
Unlike what most people think, ringworm is not about worms invading your body at all. Ringworm is a skin infection that appears as a round or sometimes oval patch. The patch usually has a distinctive red border like a red worm, hence the name ringworm. Getting rid of ringworm is not altogether easy but it is possible.
Because ringworm is a fungus it will spread very quickly to other parts of your body and even to other people as it is indeed contagious. But how does someone get ringworm in the first place if it wasn’t from another human being?
The most likely cause of ringworm infection is due to being in close contact with various animals like farm animals, cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs to name a few. Within two weeks of exposure to ringworm is when you’re most likely to see the first signs of it appearing. You might find a small red dot to begin with that will slowly grow to a much larger problem.
If you feel like you’re the only one who’s ever had ringworm then don’t, it’s a very common skin infection. If you start treatment early you’ll have a much better chance of ridding yourself of it quickly and easily. You need to prevent any spreading so be sure to keep your dirty clothes and bed linen away from other clean items and wash them in a separate load.
There are a variety of ways to treat ringworm depending on where abouts it is on your body and how aggressive the infection is. I will cover many of your options in future posts where you’ll discover ringworm remedies you’ve never even heard of.
